II. How Does It Work?
- How does YouDecide simplify the financial decision making-process?
- At YouDecide, users have a personalized website that lets them learn about, quote, decide and buy products that suit their unique needs. There is a strong mix of information, products, services and assistance from financial and insurance experts. Users simply enter their information and YouDecide compiles quotes to match their profiles. This data is saved to pre-fill applications, making future transactions even quicker and easier.
- What is needed to complete online application for loans and insurance?
- To receive the most accurate insurance quotes, it’s helpful to have current insurance policy information and claims history. For finance products, it is also helpful to have the interest rate, remaining time left on current loan(s), and current monthly payment to determine finance needs.
- How do participants pay for products and services?
- The quoting process is free. There are different payment options, depending on the product and the provider selected. Finance and insurance products are paid based on the billing method selected with the provider. Depending on the selected providers, options include credit card, electronic fund transfer, direct billing, and our "single slot" payroll deduction solution.
- What documentation is provided for record keeping?
- Any transaction completed via the YouDecide Web site or over the telephone is secure and thoroughly documented. Users receive all policy and/or loan documentation, invoices or loan payment books directly from the provider as with any insurance or loan agreement.
- Do YouDecide’s providers offer coverage nationwide?
- YouDecide has a network of national and large regional providers in place to provide broad choice and value to consumers nationwide. Due to legal or regulatory constraints, there are a limited number of locations for which some YouDecide providers cannot offer certain services.
- Are there discounts for multi-product purchases?
- Many of the participating property and casualty insurance companies offer multi-policy discounts. However, as YouDecide members receive some of the best rates available, YouDecide does not offer special discounts for purchasing more than one product or service through our network.
- Is YouDecide an insurance company?
- YouDecide is a liaison between users and a network of participating insurance providers. Each is stringently credentialed to ensure highly competitive and high quality service partners. Requirements include quality of service, financial stability, call center capabilities, product offerings, demographic expertise, geographic expertise and regulatory compliance. YouDecide, through CFN Agency, Inc., is a licensed insurance agency.
- Is YouDecide a lender?
- YouDecide serves as liaison between its members and a network of participating financial service providers. The YouDecide mission is to educate its users by providing unbiased information so they can make an informed purchase decision. - What kind of personal information does YouDecide need and is it secure?
- The personal information users provide depends on the product they select. Information for a life insurance application, for example, is different from what one would supply for auto insurance or a home loan. But all information provided to YouDecide is completely secure and will not be sold to marketers.
- Will providers bother users with unsolicited marketing telephone calls or “spam” e-mails?
- Contact information will not be made available to our providers unless a quote, product, or service is requested. Therefore, no unwanted e-mails or telephone calls are received.
- What specific steps has YouDecide taken to ensure all transactions are secure?
- YouDecide employs 128-bit encryption, which means all information is transmitted over the Internet as a meaningless string of characters. Even if information were intercepted, it could not be understood. Furthermore, YouDecide uses an Internet security technology known as a Secure Sockets Layer protocol to help protect information. - Why does YouDecide need to know one’s Social Security number?
- Most of YouDecide’s participating lenders and financial partners require a Social Security number to provide quotes or to sell a product or service. YouDecide takes the privacy and security of personal data very seriously. For more information, please review our privacy policy.
- Is information ever re-sold to a third party?
- YouDecide will not sell personal information to outside third parties. Only participating YouDecide providers — when a quote, product or service is requested — view user data.
